His Kind Gift To Me

Recently, chatting with a friend of mine, while we talk about what’s been going on in our lives, what’s our plans for the coming days, about the past as to how it was fun when we were surrounded by friends and stuff when he suddenly sprung all kinds of questions on me…

And know what? He said that treating me to dinner was my birthday gift so I took advantage of that and ordered expensive ones. But then again, the best gift was talking, asking, and listening to me the whole night. I appreciate it. Thanks!! Below are the conversation we had.

About the Past

Him : “What about friends? New AND old ones.

Me : “Well, I have a few minions in University at the moment. We have fun ๐Ÿ˜€ and tend to stress out a lot together…especially at my house…The old gang? not so much, hardly even message them anymore. Only for greeting them happy birthdays and celebrations or when we wanna hang out.

Him : -stares at me a while and nods- “It’s sad isn’t it? Branching off and leaving old memories behind?

Me : -Looks back seriously- “Yea it is, but then again, memories of the past are never lost, just locked away in a secluded part of the heart. That’s what makes it so memorable, hmm?

Him : “If you’d have gone back to redo it again, would you have chosen your past or your present?

Me : -Ponders a while- “If I went back in time to follow my past, I wouldn’t be studying what I’m studying now, my dream, and wouldn’t have met new friends and wouldn’t be me anymore…If I did go back, I’d let it be the way it’s suppose to be and continue on.

Him : “Would you say your past is more important than your present?

Me : “I would say my present is important as well as my past because soon, my present will be my past and what is important now, will still be important after.

About Relationships

Him : “And hows your love life coming along, Jess?

Me : “It isn’t…it stopped about a week or so ago actually.

Him : -Stares at me- “Did it?

Me : “Damn your eyes, you knew it ended the day he wanted to leave me…

Him : “But you didn’t let him leave you. So what happened?

Me : “I don’t know. It’s one of those times when you know it’s suppose to be a wonderful relationship and then you find yourself at the other side of the ravine.

Him : “But that doesn’t mean you can’t find a bridge to closer the gap.

Me : “But I couldn’t. In fact, the space became wider and wider until I couldn’t see him anymore. It sucks…

Him : “What caused it to widen, Jess?

Me : “As if you don’t know! -pifs- Twas the assignments, the classes, the everything. I kept getting sicker and tired by the end of each day that I couldn’t even get on to see him.

Him : “So is that why you broke up?

Me : “No, actually, we didn’t break up. He left me. He found that I blocked him on MSN. Like OMG, it’s just a “a-while” blocking!! He’s so EMO!!” -Shakes in anger-

Him : “Calm down, Jess. Remember, I’m your friend, we confide in each other right?

Me : “Hahaha, you know you’re not JUST a friend, you’re my humblest, most oldest slave I have ^^

Him : “Haha, that’s true. But seriously, what do you plan to do now seeing as you’re single and on the market again.

Me : “you make me sound like a fish D: and I don’t think I’ll deny it when someone ask if I were single and neither will I announce it (other than on my blog that is, seeing as how I’m reporting this real life conversation) to the world that I am.

Him : “Are you feeling any regrets then? About him leaving. Do you still like him?

Me : “I never liked him. I loved him, actually. I won’t say that I am glad that the relationship is over. But I’m not sad about it either. In fact, it’s just a neutral feeling.

Him : “So wanna go out with me on a date sometime? ๐Ÿ˜›

Me : “Not a chance.

Him : “You mean I’m not good enough?

Me : “You’re awesome, but then again, I wouldn’t want to risk the wrath of your honey X3~

Him : “Hahaha, I wouldn’t want to lose her too ๐Ÿ˜€

About Studies

Him : “So how are your studies?

Me : “It’s fine.

Him : “Doesn’t sound so fine to me.

Me : “Well, aren’t YOU the psychic.

Him : “Nah, I’m just your slave. And being your slave means knowing everything about you.

Me : “Oh yeah?

Him : “Yes, master~

Me : “Good boy XP~

Him : “So back to studies.

Me : “Sheesh, you sound like one of my lecturers. Such a one track mind guy you are.” -Shakes head in disgust-

Him : “That’s me all over. So stop stalling and spill.

Me : “Yes, your slaveness~

Him : -Grins- “Oh stop stalling already!!

Me : -Pifs in frustration- “Oh fine!! It’s okay but for the fact that there’s intergroup conflict in my assignment team.

Him : -Leans forward like an eager child- “Ooo, conflicts, now that’s more like it. Tell me more.

Me : -Laughs and whacks him- “Well, since this semester started, it was also the beginning of our downfall.

Him : “Sounds like a story. Does it have a princess and happy endings?

Me : -Whacks again- “I thought you wanted to hear the story!! So hush up and listen!!

Him : -Wards off attacks- “okay, okay, my master.

Me : -Clears throat and sips at drinks- “No, there isn’t any princesses or happy endings. Just 4 irritated females and an irritating old man. Anyway. the old man, CW likes one of the girls, WL, and decided to confess to her. But due to the fact that WL finds nothing, absolutely nothing to admire about CW, she blatantly avoided him for days until she decicded to reject him.

After the rejection, the mood in the group changed drastically. The four girls have begun a discrimination campaign against CW due to his sudden moodiness. At first, all 4 girls didn’t want to embarrass him when WL rejected him. But it turns out that he wanted a fight. He fought every group decision which caused all the 3 other girls to lose their cool and find every reason to fight him.

So later, during assignments, the four girls gave CW as LITTLE tasks as possible so that there was minimal contact. However, CW even managed to fuck those up too. And during the last presentation of the semester, just because all 4 girls rejected his slides due to the fact that the tutor wanted a short presentation slides that were to the point whereas his were like…NOTES!! He has this irrational belief that we sabotage his presentation results and went behind all 4 girls back and complained to the tutor.

“Excuse me, Mr. I’m-a-pussy, you didn’t do any single thing in the LAST assignment.” And now he is complaining about one of us and you know how it is. You tell on some one and that person would have lower marks just cause you don’t like them. But the 4 girls didn’t do that. Oh no…he was the one. The person who contributed the LEAST!!! My fucking gawd…he should GROW UP!!

Him : “Wow…that was just…WOW!” -Claps-

Me : “Why thank you my humble slave.

Him : “I just don’t get why you all didn’t just kick him off the team or complain about him?

Me : “That’s because we have sympathy and empathy towards this guy. Come on, we’re not that evil to kick him off in the middle of the semester.

Him : “But he sounds like a downright bastard, to be honest.

Me : “Yes he does. In fact, he even managed to lose J’s pendrive and NOT apologive when he first told her it wasn’t with him until he, if I may say so, afraid, when he saw J.

Him : “Grrr, a spineless coward…

Me : “Yes, don’t we hate ’em cowards?

Him : “Yes, we do…

Me : “So that’s about it XD~

Him : “And what do you all plan to do about this.

Me : “Sheesh, you and your one-tracked mind D:

Him : “Why, thank you.

Me : -Laughs and scowl at the same time- “Why, we’re gonna kick him out of the group of course. Actually, we don’t think of him as the member of our team anymore. He’ll be the downfall of us, I swear! And besides I don’t think I can live with his attitude for another 2 years ๐Ÿ˜ก

Him : “Good for all of you then. Kudos!

Me : “Thanks ^^

We had dinner and had fun. I really appreciate it. It just makes me more at ease to know you care enough to listen to me instead of spending quality time with your girlfriend. I’ll never forget hat you did. (Not that I can anyways since I blogged it all lol ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Money Be Mine?

Ish…I so need money now D: for what? Well, for a lot of things!! Let me list em all down, yea.

  • A Credit Card!
  • Yes!! I need a credit card!! For what? So that I can participate in blogging for fun and money community D: Don’t look at me that way…I need the cash for a LOT of reasons and one of them is my studies but that’s another point later on…

Anyways, I need credit card cause most things is in Paypal form and Paypal requires that you have a credit card to join them…I’ve kinda begged my parents to get me one so I can get some income for myself instead of asking them for money all the time but they told me to print out every single detail on Paypal and there’s like…a whole shitload of it D:

Reaching out to my Readers :

Can someone help out this undeniable beauty by giving information on how safe Paypal really, truly is? I remembered being told by a friend of mine that he hacked into someone’s Paypal and ate some of that fella’s money…so HOW safe IS it?

  • Upgrading WordPress
  • Why? So that I can put up adverts by Nuffnang, so sorry to Nuffnang that I registered with them but cannot put any adverts up, luckily the management at Nuffnang were kind enough to let me off, truly nice people!! But see la, if I get credit card and Paypal liao, I can obviously afford 15 USD to upgrade this current blog as well get a better layout ^^

  • Advertising
  • After getting the first 2 over and done with, I can begin to start doing adverts for Nuffnang, Advertlets, PayPerPost and so on cause can register for membership liao with credit card cause they all use paypal to pay bloggers except Nuffnang…that one, I got the upgrade so that I can place some adverts (Not too many though…I don’t want to fill this blog up with just adverts since it’s my personal blog…)

  • Get My Own Domain Name
  • After months of hard labor work, I can finally begin to think about getting my own domain name…of course, I’m a n00b, thus I need help from all you pro-domain-bloggers out there when the time comes for me, yea? ๐Ÿ˜€ But this process is a no hurry thing cause I can also live with my current web link ๐Ÿ˜›

  • New Computer/Laptop
  • Let’s all go back to why I need money. I need money cause my current computer, although still usable, it’s falling apart…cannot say I want to kill it la…it’s been with me since last year (belong to me alone) and been in the family 2 or 3 years before it came to me. So obviously got some attachment to it. But horr…it’s hard drive got problem liao, says my dad. And then after reformatting it, it’ll just go slower. It’s like when you’re old liao, got sickness, you go and see doctor, doctor give you medication and then you get better, but horr, your metabolism rate goes bye bye due to your previous illness.

That’s how my computer is la. So now need to let it rest more, still got use but need a new computer to carry on the work, right? Unless how? I learn how to write like a computer kah? My handwriting damn bad wan, kthx!!

  • Saving Money for Masters Degree
  • Yes, need to start saving liao. My parents promised that if I could get enough for my CGPA to do Masters, they’ll be sending me off overseas to study “We want you to have overseas exposure”, that’s what they said to me. I don’t want to burden my parents with all the cost in sending me to overseas as well as the living expenses (especially since I know I can’t get any scholarships). So side money is good to support myself when I go overseas without making my parents cut cost and making my siblings have less good stuffs in life, right?

I’m not usually a good daughter, I know la, that’s why I don’t want to make them suffer by working so hard (they working damn hard now, go to work damn early and come back damn late…) my parents is being burdened by our school books, my University fees, our lifestyle and even pet food…I don’t want them to look old even if they’re not even 50 yet…I love my parents a lot though they think I’m rebellious and irresponsible, I’m still their eldest daughter…need to be more responsible now that I’m going to be 20 in 2 weeks D:

  • Save Money to Treat Parents
  • Last 15th of March was their anniversary…didn’t give them anything at all, paiseh la D: so now want to save for their next anniversary, maybe treat them to a weekend somewhere alone lo. Seeing as how we kids always worry them…so wanna treat them to an all expense holiday la. Or maybe an all expense spa or something.

Reaching out to my Readers :

Any suggestion on what ANY parents would like as their anniversary gift from their kids? I’ll gladly read all of them ^^

Aiyah…run out of ideas liao worr…for now heh ๐Ÿ˜› So what do you think? Could you help answer my questions when I have so boldly reached out to all of you to answer my unanswered questions? Please? Or even if you don’t have the answers to my questions, just a comment or two to support me would be damn wonderful ๐Ÿ™‚

What? The other day just finished talking about Obsessions. Today pulak want to talk about Fantasies o_O nothing to write about meh?

Aiyah…I’m just doing it due to the fact that Robb asked me what was my fantasies here. So I’m just answering to that question la ๐Ÿ˜›

So what are my Fantasies? Hmm…this is a hard question…I never really thought on fantasies in a long time…usually cause I’ve always turned my fantasies into obsessions…so what makes me think fantasy is any different than obsessions? Well…in my opinionObsessions is where you WANT something and you do almost everything to HAVE it since you’re obsessed and that you MUST HAVE it. Fantasies on the other hand…you DREAM of having that certain something but you KNOW it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get it cause it’s either UNREAL or you wanted it on a CHILDISH WHIM. Thats my definition of obsession and fantasies…

Fantasy #1

I’d like to own a small cottage-like house in a valley somewhere with lots of trees with no pollutions, no cars, no factories, no babbling aunties trying to butt into your business every time you plan to go out…I want to live in a valley with nothing but the green grass, trees, river, birds and such. I’m a very simple person. I just need a small house so that I don’t need to do much house chores cause I’m not a domesticated person ๐Ÿ˜›, a quiet place to think, read, and do anything I want cause I am rather anti-social…, and a place unpolluted by human hands…

As you can see…this is MY fantasy…the fact that I labeled it as a fantasy is because,

  1. When I am able to afford such luxury, the probability of finding an unpolluted valley is next to impossible. Humans are a one-tracked mind being. They might say that it’s important to safe the environment and to bring mother nature and earth to it’s beautiful state again. However, in their thinking, everyone just goes “why should I be the one to make the world clean again? I’m sure there are millions of people out there who would do it…” and just go on with their normal life, polluting the earth and preaching “environment friendly”.
  2. It’s impossible to be alone in this world. Everywhere you turn, you see another person standing/walking/running/crawling/sitting in front of you. There’s just no where to hide. Not even in your own room…People are reproducing at the speed of light or better yet, not just the “happily married thus I need many kids to prove it” families but also the unmarried young adults who have just too much testosterone and progesterone…well, not all females are at fault…most of them get raped every year due to the fact that men can’t handle their libidos. Ever heard of masturbating and jerking off, boys? Or perhaps…condoms? o_O
  3. Well, again, I can’t be alone cause I want to take care of my family. Yes, although I might seem like the fucking-insane-dictator-person like I am, I DO love my family. I don’t want anything bad to happen to my family as most people out there feel too…I’m just a normal human being with feelings. And like most of the human population, I won’t abandon my family. I will always love them and be there for them through thich and thin.

Fantasy #2

No school, no homework, no assignment, no exams, no nothing…just holidays forever XD

Oh how I wish!! This is SO never ever gonna happen, man…unless I won in a lottery, invested it and got a gazillion dollars!! Then I’d be living in my fantasies LOL.

Fantasy #3

To meet the PERFECT woman and shake her hand and maybe give her a slap or two.

Why? Cause there’s no such thing as a PERFECT woman…nobody is perfect, that’s what makes us all unique…if everyone was perfect, life would be meaningless. Look at me…I am a happy, fat, mediocre-ly ugly with an ordinary life. It may sounds harsh but I enjoy it. It’s those things that makes me damn unique.

But if I were to meet up with a real PERFECT woman, I’d show her that even IMPERFECTION is a wondrous thing and NOT a scar in life.

I guess those are my fantasies for now…I just woke up and thought of these 3 fantasies…kinda impressive for a half-awake person like me to do LOL. Anyways, enjoy pondering my fantasies and leave a comment or two on your fantasies ๐Ÿ˜€

However, the item on sale is NOT at all BOGUS. In fact, it is REAL and you can find it in One Utama. Too bad it doesn’t spit real cash T-T

I’m sure everyone out there has at least ONE obsession to something…right? Well…I have a FEW of them ๐Ÿ˜€ and all of them are unique in their own way ^^ That’s why I love it so much ๐Ÿ˜›

  1. To Conquer The World!!
  2. I have no idea when I adapted this obsessive urge to make the world mine and making everyone who lives my slave…It probably started when I was studying in my Foundation year in TARC (Tunku Abdul Rahman College) due to the fact that assignments were the bane of my insanity. It must have been then!!

Since that time, I have came up with the 8 stages of slavery :

    1. 1st stage => Personally serves me.
    2. 2nd stage => Tends to household chores.
    3. 3rd stage => Tends to outside chores.
    4. 4th stage => My cat’s personal slaves.
    5. 5th stage => My army.
    6. 6th stage => If you’re here, you will lug wood and stone to build me my buildings.
    7. 7th stage => Longkang washers (Indah Water Slaves)
    8. 8th stage => Tortured for 7 months and then killed slowly and painfully >D

Yes…I am sick and obsessive…no hope for me…the probability of it happening is 0.1% but who cares? It’s my obsession XD

  3. Tidyness/Cleaniness Obsessive Compulsive Issue
  4. I have this problem where whenever I see a book out of place, I tend to rearrange it to make it uniform to the other books. I MUST have everything in place to work efficiently and properly. HOWEVER, I do not apply this to my own room. WHY? This is because after cleaning my room, my cat would just mess it all up again. It’s a painful process. Therefore I leave things the way it is and just let my beautiful kitty take rein of my room ๐Ÿ˜›

  5. My Cat, My World
  6. As you can see from my previous obsessions, I take my kitty very seriously. This is because he’s so beautiful and so MINE!! Also, he scares the hell out of my friends whenever they come over XD oh gawd…it’s so damn funny when you see them jumping all over the house and picking up their items from the floor when Max (My cat) goes over to sniff at it. Hahahaha. He’s my perfect kitty soulmate in equality of evilness. LOVE HIM!!!

From a kitty to a cat!

He’s the king of my computer and room!! Even gets to share my bed with me ^u^

  7. Inanimate Objects? I Beg To Differ…
  8. Well…erm…my COMPUTER is a HE. And he gets jealous almost ALL the time. HOW? Well, whenever I plan to use other computers, he throws a tantrum and turns himself blue just doing it (in other words, he turns into a blue screen and is always making me restart him). Also, when there are people in my room wanna do assignments, he’ll turn blue again cause I’m not spending enough time with him and he hates it when I do assignments cause they’re boring and makes him doze off (therefore, turning blue again…). All in all, he’s NOT an INANIMATE object, in fact, he’s just as HUMAN as YOU and ME…

There are other stuffs too…like my handphone…it’s my “bao bei” (my darling). He likes to be used to cam-whore.

There are so many others but I’m not gonna continue…my computer looks like he is gonna throw a tantrum soon cause I’m talking bad about him here XD.

Hmm…this topic is really interesting right? Maybe I should tag a few of my favorite reads…hmm…I guess I WILL!! X3

I guess I’ll tag…2 of my favorites ๐Ÿ˜€ : (I tagged the both of em cause it seems they’re the only ones who know of me XD)

  1. Cedric
  2. Robb

Just post an article on your obsessions and if you want to, tag others too ๐Ÿ˜›

My Favorite Bloggers

As the title says, my all time favorite bloggers are out there somewhere in this huge, polluted, discriminated, racist, sexist world. (Actually got many more but I’m not gonna be long-winded about it…)

Actually, just recently, a friend of mine, a loyal reader and a non-blogger asked me who were my favorite bloggers and I blinked back at her and said “I…erm…seriously don’t know…” and she replied back “Sure got a few favorites, right? Tak mungkin don’t have wan!! Everyone have favorites!!”

So here goes…(no…it’s not ordered from 1 to 10, I’m going through it alphabetically…)

By Who?
Ms. Lilian Chan
What’s It About?
Anything and everything!! From unpaid to paid posts. From good to bad. From “niasing” to “niamah”.
Why That Blogger?
I love her writing style. Damn unique and colorful (her words XD) laughter all the way when reading her blog. And did I mention unique?
How Often Do You Read It?
Once every 2 days…ever since I found her blog through Project Petaling Street

By Who?
Ms. Jolin Kwok
What’s It About?
Her personal life, her struggles with people around her and issues surrounding her.
Why That Blogger?
I can’t really say she’s my favorite blogger…she is…was…my best friend in secondary and life just went on and pulled us apart when we went off to different colleges…I read her blogs to know what’s been up in her life and all seeing as I’m curious and worry about her as a friend would. We are…were…soulmates in terms of friendship where whatever we did and think were at most times the same and we were always depending on each other back then ๐Ÿ™‚ those were good times.
How Often Do You Read It?
At least once a week. Sometimes I don’t really agree with what she writes. Somehow we don’t think alike anymore ๐Ÿ˜ก oh well…

By Who?
Mr. Cedric Ang
What’s It About?
Err…his views on his life, overall issues, humor, daily issues and so on.
Why That Blogger?
His blog is kinda impressive when it comes to pictures of food ๐Ÿ˜€ yes, that’s right. Food. Also, the way he expresses himself and things he’s seen and done daily is rather impressive.
How Often Do You Read It?
Hmm, I try to read it every 2 days when I’ve got the time in between assignments ๐Ÿ™‚

By Who?
Mr. Robb Yaoi
What’s It About?
Lol, it’s about his life and humor and YouTubing-ness.
Why That Blogger?
I like the way he expresses himself in his blog and says “I’m gay. Who cares what you think? I’m loving it.”
How Often Do You Read It?
As many times as I try to read Cedric’s. Every 2 days ๐Ÿ™‚

Jessica (Me!!)

By Who?
Ms. Jessica Ee
What’s It About?
It’s about my life, my views, my criticisms, my view on others and so much more.
Why That Blogger?
Because it’s me. I’m my own favorite blogger and blog reader. I like to read back what I write. Reflect upon my self and maybe try to ease up on life, seeing it in a more positive light. In a way…my blog is helping me get through my hectic, insane, black & white, young adult life…
How Often Do You Read It?
I read my own blog everyday. Why? To check for spelling errors, check for comments (Yes, I’m a comments whore. I strive to see what others say about what I have to write. Be it surprise, anger, or laughter.) And I reflect upon my blog, thus reading it daily helps me feel better about life ^^

I actually have more bloggers that I admire…but I don’t have the time now…it’s late…I’ve been awake since 5am this morning and it’s now…11pm -yawns- so g’night all~

PS : Maybe I should make a chain out of this…”Your 5 favorite bloggers and tag all 5 of the favorites =D”

PPS : If you’re not mentioned here, don’t fret. It’s not that I don’t like reading your blog. It’s just that it’s late and I couldn’t remember what blogs I like.

A Questionable Morning

When I woke up today, all I had were questions in my head…it was really disturbing because every morning when I wake up, all I expect are thoughts of “Go back to sleep~~ waking up so early is bad~~ you should just drop your head back on the pillow~~ sleep~~ sleep~~” But NOOOO…today is so NOT a good day since questions are what is in my head first thing in the morning =.=;;;

So yea, the first question on my mind was, “How will omelettes taste with money?” !!! What kinda question is THAT i ask you?!?! Who in their right mind thinks of that when you wake up? Hmm?! So yea, I woke up thinking of that and then I kept getting more silly questions like “Will my shoe shine if I sprinkle fairy dust on it?”, “Will my cat talk today?”, “Am I looney?!?” and then I went out of my room and squinted out of my blurry eyes (didn’t bother wearing specs that morning…) and thought I saw my mother so I asked her “Will Rush Hour 3 be featuring Cinderella?” O_O!!! Yea, really!! I asked that XD. My mom, baffled at that question asked in return “What have you been studying at UTAR?!?!” in which I answered “Drugs and crap” LOL. Why I did that? I ono, maybe I was still in my psychotic dreamland.

Fortunately for my mother’s brilliance, she immediately saw through my questions as “daft and birdbrained” and just gave me my weekly allowance and somehow, I maneuvered back into my room and proceeded to fall asleep again forgetting that I had lecture at 8am that morning =.=;;;

So in return, today in this article, I’m going to be analysing my questions. So here goes!

How will omelettes taste with money?
Hmm, seriously? I have no idea, but i think it’ll taste expensive ๐Ÿ˜€

Will my shoes shine if I sprinkle fairy dusts on it?
Nah, it won’t. It’ll just make a wish and *POOF!!* becoming awesome new Nikes!!

Will my cat talk today?
Unfortunately, no. But watch out, he’ll be doing a duet tonight with the dog.

Am I looney?

Will Rush Hour 3 be featuring Cinderella?
I doubt that. Being in a rush, Cinderella just might leave behind not only her shoes but her dress and makeup as well!!

Does hoppity hop hop go with boom ba doom ba doom?
Nah, it’s like asking the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause to Tango lol.

I’m sorry there isn’t more questions but those are all I could think off from that morning =.=;;; I SO do not want to go through that again. But then again, it’s interesting, no?

My Future “Bao Bei”

Around next week (05/03/07 – 10/03/07) I would be getting my new phone, whoo hoo!!! What kind of phone is it? It’s a Sony Ericsson model, I think they named it…W710i.

It should look like this :

Sony Ericsson W750i

The following picture is the picture of my previous and my now hand phone. Yes, as you can see, they’re Nokias.

As of now, I am leaving these Nokia models and will be investing my money on the Sony Ericsson W710i for at least 2 reasons. Let’s dissect and examine those reasons. Shall we?

1. Clam Shell Phone

I have the sudden cravings for flip phones ๐Ÿ˜›

2. Camera

It is SO much more clearer than Nokia 6220’s camera resolution. It annoyed the hell out of me when I had to squint to see the pictures clearly. Also, I’m NOT that BAD at photo taking kthx!!

3. Music

The Sony Ericsson W750i is an MP3 phone. The current Nokia 6220 isn’t.

4. Wallpaper

Nokia 6220 doesn’t support my moving wallpaper. Yes, I like moving cute things. I’m vain that way.

5. Time for a change

I just need a change from the Nokia scene. Always using the same old models and stuff is just plain boring.

May I say that I am not advertising for Sony Ericsson and since I have no experience in anything other than Nokia, I can’t really judge…but I SO want that Sony Ericsson!!! -throws a HUGE tantrum!!- ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Bleh…anyway, time to do my part of the assignment now.

Top 50 Things To Do To Stop Global Warming

Taken from Global Warming Facts.
Plucked from Guang’s Blog

Global warming is a dramatically urgent and serious problem. We don’t need to wait for governments to solve this problem: each one of us can bring an important help adopting a more responsible lifestyle: starting from little, everyday things. It’s the only reasonable way to save our planet, before it is too late.

Here is a list of 50 simple things that everyone can do in order to fight against and reduce the Global Warming phenomenon: some of them are at no cost, some other require a little investment but can help you save a lot of money, in the middle-long term!

Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb (cfl)
CFLs use 60% less energy than a regular bulb. This simple switch will save about 300 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

Install a programmable thermostat
Programmable thermostats will automatically lower the heat or air conditioning at night and raise them again in the morning. They can save you $100 a year on your energy bill.

Move your thermostat down 2ยฐ in winter and up 2ยฐ in summer
Almost half of the energy we use in our homes goes to heating and cooling. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple adjustment. The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy has more tips for saving energy on heating and cooling.

Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner
Cleaning a dirty air filter can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases
Look for the Energy Star label on new appliances to choose the most efficient models available.

Do not leave appliances on standby
Use the โ€œon/offโ€ function on the machine itself. A TV set thatโ€™s switched on for 3 hours a day (the average time Europeans spend watching TV) and in standby mode during the remaining 21 hours uses about 40% of its energy in standby mode.

Wrap your water heater in an insulation blanket
Youโ€™ll save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple action. You can save another 550 pounds per year by setting the thermostat no higher than 50ยฐC.

Move your fridge and freezer
Placing them next to the cooker or boiler consumes much more energy than if they were standing on their own. For example, if you put them in a hot cellar room where the room temperature is 30-35ยบC, energy use is almost double and causes an extra 160kg of CO2 emissions for fridges per year and 320kg for freezers.

Defrost old fridges and freezers regularly
Even better is to replace them with newer models, which all have automatic defrost cycles and are generally up to two times more energy-efficient than their predecessors.

Donโ€™t let heat escape from your house over a long period
When airing your house, open the windows for only a few minutes. If you leave a small opening all day long, the energy needed to keep it warm inside during six cold months (10ยบC or less outside temperature) would result in almost 1 ton of CO2 emissions.

Replace your old single-glazed windows with double-glazing
This requires a bit of upfront investment, but will halve the energy lost through windows and pay off in the long term. If you go for the best the market has to offer (wooden-framed double-glazed units with low-emission glass and filled with argon gas), you can even save more than 70% of the energy lost.

Get a home energy audit
Many utilities offer free home energy audits to find where your home is poorly insulated or energy inefficient. You can save up to 30% off your energy bill and 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. Energy Star can help you find an energy specialist.

Cover your pots while cooking
Doing so can save a lot of the energy needed for preparing the dish. Even better are pressure cookers and steamers: they can save around 70%!

Use the washing machine or dishwasher only when they are full
If you need to use it when it is half full, then use the half-load or economy setting. There is also no need to set the temperatures high. Nowadays detergents are so efficient that they get your clothes and dishes clean at low temperatures.

Take a shower instead of a bath
A shower takes up to four times less energy than a bath. To maximise the energy saving, avoid power showers and use low-flow showerheads, which are cheap and provide the same comfort.

Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water. You can use less hot water by installing a low flow showerhead (350 pounds of carbon dioxide saved per year) and washing your clothes in cold or warm water (500 pounds saved per year) instead of hot.

Use a clothesline instead of a dryer whenever possible
You can save 700 pounds of carbon dioxide when you air dry your clothes for 6 months out of the year.

Insulate and weatherize your home
Properly insulating your walls and ceilings can save 25% of your home heating bill and 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. Caulking and weather-stripping can save another 1,700 pounds per year. Energy Efficient has more information on how to better insulate your home.

Be sure youโ€™re recycling at home
You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide a year by recycling half of the waste your household generates. Earth 911 can help you find recycling resources in your area.

Recycle your organic waste
Around 3% of the greenhouse gas emissions through the methane is released by decomposing bio-degradable waste. By recycling organic waste or composting it if you have a garden, you can help eliminate this problem! Just make sure that you compost it properly, so it decomposes with sufficient oxygen, otherwise your compost will cause methane emissions and smell foul.

Buy intelligently
One bottle of 1.5l requires less energy and produces less waste than three bottles of 0.5l. As well, buy recycled paper products: it takes less 70 to 90% less energy to make recycled paper and it prevents the loss of forests worldwide.

Choose products that come with little packaging and buy refills when you can
You will also cut down on waste production and energy use!

Reuse your shopping bag
When shopping, it saves energy and waste to use a reusable bag instead of accepting a disposable one in each shop. Waste not only discharges CO2 and methane into the atmosphere, it can also pollute the air, groundwater and soil.

Reduce waste
Most products we buy cause greenhouse gas emissions in one or another way, e.g. during production and distribution. By taking your lunch in a reusable lunch box instead of a disposable one, you save the energy needed to produce new lunch boxes.

Plant a tree
A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. Shade provided by trees can also reduce your air conditioning bill by 10 to 15%. The Arbor Day Foundation has information on planting and provides trees you can plant with membership.

Switch to green power
In many areas, you can switch to energy generated by clean, renewable sources such as wind and solar. The Green Power Network is a good place to start to figure out whatโ€™s available in your area.

Buy locally grown and produced foods
The average meal in the United States travels 1,200 miles from the farm to your plate. Buying locally will save fuel and keep money in your community.

Buy fresh foods instead of frozen
Frozen food uses 10 times more energy to produce.

Seek out and support local farmers markets
They reduce the amount of energy required to grow and transport the food to you by one fifth. You can find a farmerโ€™s market in your area at the USDA website.

Buy organic foods as much as possible
Organic soils capture and store carbon dioxide at much higher levels than soils from conventional farms. If we grew all of our corn and soybeans organically, weโ€™d remove 580 billion pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere!

Eat less meat
Methane is the second most significant greenhouse gas and cows are one of the greatest methane emitters. Their grassy diet and multiple stomachs cause them to produce methane, which they exhale with every breath.

Reduce the number of miles you drive by walking, biking, carpooling or taking mass transit wherever possible
Avoiding just 10 miles of driving every week would eliminate about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year! Look for transit options in your area.

Start a carpool with your coworkers or classmates
Sharing a ride with someone just 2 days a week will reduce your carbon dioxide emissions by 1,590 pounds a year. eRideShare.com runs a free national service connecting commuters and travelers.

Donโ€™t leave an empty roof rack on your car
This can increase fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 10% due to wind resistance and the extra weight – removing it is a better idea.

Keep your car tuned up
Regular maintenance helps improve fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. When just 1% of car owners properly maintain their cars, nearly a billion pounds of carbon dioxide are kept out of the atmosphere.

Drive carefully and do not waste fuel
You can reduce CO2 emissions by readjusting your driving style. Choose proper gears, do not abuse the gas pedal, use the engine brake instead of the pedal brake when possible and turn off your engine when your vehicle is motionless for more than one minute. By readjusting your driving style you can save money on both fuel and car mantainance.

Check your tires weekly to make sure theyโ€™re properly inflated
Proper inflation can improve gas mileage by more than 3%. Since every gallon of gasoline saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, every increase in fuel efficiency makes a difference!

When it is time for a new car, choose a more fuel efficient vehicle
You can save 3,000 pounds of carbon dioxide every year if your new car gets only 3 miles per gallon more than your current one. You can get up to 60 miles per gallon with a hybrid! You can find information on fuel efficiency on FuelEconomy and on GreenCars websites.

Try car sharing
Need a car but donโ€™t want to buy one? Community car sharing organizations provide access to a car and your membership fee covers gas, maintenance and insurance. Many companies โ€“ such as Flexcar – offer low emission or hybrid cars too! Also, see ZipCar.

Try telecommuting from home
Telecommuting can help you drastically reduce the number of miles you drive every week. For more information, check out the Telework Coalition.

Fly less
Air travel produces large amounts of emissions so reducing how much you fly by even one or two trips a year can reduce your emissions significantly. You can also offset your air travel by investing in renewable energy projects.

Encourage your school or business to reduce emissions
You can extend your positive influence on global warming well beyond your home by actively encouraging other to take action.

Join the virtual march
The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-political effort to bring people concerned about global warming together in one place. Add your voice to the hundreds of thousands of other people urging action on this issue.

Encourage the switch to renewable energy
Successfully combating global warming requires a national transition to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and biomass. These technologies are ready to be deployed more widely but there are regulatory barriers impeding them. Take action to break down those barriers with Vote Solar.

Protect and conserve forest worldwide
Forests play a critial role in global warming: they store carbon. When forests are burned or cut down, their stored carbon is release into the atmosphere – deforestation now accounts for about 20% of carbon dioxide emissions each year. Conservation International has more information on forests and global warming.

Consider the impact of your investments
If you invest your money, you should consider the impact that your investments and savings will have on global warming. Check out SocialInvest and Ceres to can learn more about how to ensure your money is being invested in companies, products and projects that address issues related to climate change.

Make your city cool
Cities and states around the country have taken action to stop global warming by passing innovative transportation and energy saving legislation. 194 cities in the U.S. representing over 40 million people have made this pledge as part of the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. Find out how to make your city a cool city.

Tell Congress to act
The McCain Lieberman Climate Stewardship and Innovation Act would set a firm limit on carbon dioxide emissions and then use free market incentives to lower costs, promote efficiency and spur innovation. Tell your representative to support it.

Make sure your voice is heard!
We must have a stronger commitment from their government in order to stop global warming and implement solutions and such a commitment wonโ€™t come without a dramatic increase in citizen lobbying for new laws with teeth.
